The Basics

The Catawba Terrace Care Center is a 501c3 ministry of the Westminster Presbyterian  Church Diaconate. Our volunteers are the heartbeat of our ministry and make it possible to serve our neighbors. The time commitment is minimal Рan average of 2-3 hours per month.

Below are the most immediate ways you can get involved.

Kids Club Helpers
Food Delivery
Food Packers

An average of 1-3 hours per month.

Food Pantry

Our Food Pantry delivers food to families in need on Saturday mornings in the Catawba Terrace and surrounding areas.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Food Deliverer:

Our Food Pantry is in need of a food deliverer for the 2nd Saturday of each month. Our deliverers typically deliver food to three families in the Rock Hill area.

Food is picked up at the Care Center anytime between 8 am and 8:45 am on Saturday and delivered to the families.

Commitment: The Second Saturday of each month. It takes approximately 1 hour to deliver the food.

Food Packer:

Food Packers pack food in bags for 15 families. Packing is from 8:00 am to 9 am Saturday mornings. We have two positions available. The 2nd Saturday of each month and the 3rd Saturday of each month.

Commitment: One Saturday per month, either the 2nd or 3rd (pick one) Saturday of each month. It takes approximately 30-45 minutes to pack the food.

Food Shopper

Food Shoppers pick up food from Second Harvest Food Bank in Charlotte and bring it back to the Care Center. Food Shoppers choose their week to shop (and shop the same week each month) and shop once per month. Shopping is by appointment only and can be done at the shoppers convenience Monday – Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.

Commitment: Approximately 3 hours, one week a month.
